Policy.
Overview
Ticket Sniper for District ("the extension") does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. The extension operates entirely within your browser and has no backend infrastructure of any kind.
Data stored locally in your browser
The following data is stored only in your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. It never leaves your device and is never transmitted anywhere:
- Your sniper settings (check interval, maximum attempts, auto-arm on/off)
- Your selected team filter for the IPL 2026 schedule
- An activity log of recent sniper events (timestamps and actions only)
- The last match you selected in the IPL schedule
You can clear all of this at any time by going to chrome://extensions → Ticket Sniper → Details → Clear Site Data, or by uninstalling the extension.
Data we do not collect
- No browsing history or page content
- No personal information of any kind
- No usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports
- No cookies from District or any other website
- No network requests to any third-party server
- No information about the events or tickets you view
Chrome permissions explained
The extension requests the following permissions. Each is necessary for a specific function and nothing else:
- activeTab — Required to inject the sniper script into the currently active District tab when you arm it from the popup.
- scripting — Required to programmatically inject content scripts into District tabs when triggered from the popup.
- notifications — Required to send you a browser notification when a queue is joined successfully or the sniper times out.
- storage — Required to save your settings, team filter preference, and activity log locally in your browser.
- alarms — Required by the background service worker for managing periodic tasks.
- host permission (district.in) — The extension is restricted to only activate on
district.inpages. It cannot access any other website.
Third-party services
The extension operates on district.in, which is a product of Zomato. District uses Queue-Fair, a third-party virtual waiting room service, to manage ticket demand. Ticket Sniper does not interact with Queue-Fair's systems beyond the normal browser behaviour of a user visiting a webpage.
Ticket Sniper is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to District, Zomato, Queue-Fair, the BCCI, or any IPL franchise.
Children's privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
